Necrotic Enteritis

Lesions in the intestinal wall caused by an overgrowth of Clostridial bacteria producing toxins. Liver lesions due to the toxins can also be seen. Mortality can be quite severe. Usually found in association with a Coccidiosis challenge or a feed change. Responds very well to antibiotic treatment but care should be taken to re establish the normal bacterial flora.
